PUERTO RICO (November 20, 2014) - After his dominating performance against Philippine contender Michael Farenas (39-5-4, 31 KOs), Puerto Rican star and IBO super-featherweight champion, Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (19-0, 12 KOs), is elated that he's become the mandatory challenger to face IBF champion Rances Barthelemy (21-0, 12 KOs).

Jose Pedraza Wins IBF Elimination Bout against Michael Farenas

PUERTO RICO (November 14, 2014) - Tonight at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Gary Shaw Productions, DiBella Entertainment and Universal Promotions' undefeated IBO super featherweight champion, Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (19-0, 12 KOs) dazzled his hometown fans winning an astounding 12-round unanimous decision against top Philippine contender Michael Farenas (39-5-4, 31 KOs).  With the win, Pedraza moves into the mandatory position to fight IBF world champion, Rances Barthelemy (21-0, 12 KOs) as this fight was an IBF elimination bout. 

Pedraza got into a grove in the early rounds and mounted a sustainable lead as he used his superior boxing skills to pick apart Farenas who was coming forward.  As the fight entered the middle rounds, Pedraza continued to box and use lateral movement to win rounds.  Farenas had his moments as he landed a few big power shots, but nothing that would prevent Pedraza from executing his game plan. In the championship rounds Farenas came on strong, but it was too late as Pedraza ended strong to keep his lead intact.  Scorecards read 117-111, 118-110 and 116-112, all in favor for Pedraza.

Welterweight Prospect 'Speedy' Rashidi Ellis Added to Pedraza-Farenas card this Friday in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Former amateur star, 'Speedy' Rashidi Ellis ( 12-0, 9 KO's ) from Lynn, Massachusetts will return to the ring this Friday, November 14th at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where in the ,main event, Puerto Rican sensation, Jose 'Sniper' Pedraza will face Philippine contender, Michael Farenas in a IBF elimination bout.

Ellis opponent will be Joseph De los Santos ( 18-13-9 KO's ) from Dominican Republic in a scheduled six round bout at the welterweight division.
  
"Joseph (De los Santos) has faced great fighters such as Glen Tapia, J 'Leon Love, Eddie Gomez and many others. In fact, in that Gomez fight, the result was controversial because the fans, and many boxing analysts saw Joseph winning convincingly, but now is Rashidi's time. 'Manny' Rodriguez grabs WBO Latino title, demolished Miguel 'No Fear' Cartagena

One of Puerto Rico's upcoming stars, Emmanuel "Manny" Rodriguez (10-0, 6 KO's) demolished former two time United States National Champion, Miguel 'No Fear' Cartagena (13-2, 5 KO's) of Philadelphia in the first round to capture the vacant WBO Latino title at the bantamweight ( 118lbs ) division in a 10-round bout held at the Cosme Beitia Coliseum in Cataño, Puerto Rico.

Since the beginning of the bout, Rodriguez was the aggressor, connecting accurate straight right hands on Cartagena's face, which gave Rodriguez a opening to land a powerful left uppercut to the chin that immediately ended the fight. Cartagena was in very bad shape after the fight.

"I want to thank God for this victory. My respect goes to Team Cartagena for accepting this fight in Puerto Rico. I must say, Cartagena is a very humble person", said Rodríguez that also commented "the training for this bout was really hard because we knew how good Cartagena is. I did my job, and I'm very grateful with my trainer Jim Pagán for his effort during training camp, and I can't forget to thanks the fans for showing me so much support in my first title fight".

In amateur boxing, Rodriguez was a former Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games gold medalist, Azerbaijan's 2010 World Youth Championships silver medalist, 2011 Puerto Rico National Champion, among other achievements.

PUERTO RICO (October 9, 2014) - Gary Shaw Productions, DiBella Entertainment and Universal Promotions' undefeated IBO super featherweight champion and Puerto Rican sensation Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (18-0, 12 KOs) and Philippine contender Michael Farenas (39-4-4, 31 KOs) have finalized their IBF elimination bout scheduled for November 14, 2014, at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  The 12-round bout will be televised on DirecTV in Puerto Rico only. Miguel Cartagena to battle Manny Rodriguez for WBO Latino Bantamweight title on Saturday, October 18 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano grabs gold in Argentina; demolished former WBO Lightweight Champion, Maria Maderna

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Highly touted female boxer from Puerto Rico by way of Brooklyn, New York, Amanda Serrano ( 21-1-1, 16 KO's ) scored a impressive six round knockout over localist, Maria 'Tily' Maderna ( 13-9-3, 2 KO's ) from Buenos Aires to grab the WBO World Lightweight belt ( 135lbs ). The fight was held at the Argentine Boxing Federation Stadium.

This was Maderna fourth title defense but Serrano, a former Featherweight and Super Featherweight World Champion, was dominating the fight with her speed and power. Then in the 6 round, she connected a solid right hook that sent Maderna to the canvas, who then after getting on her feet told the referre to stop the fight.

Amanda Serrano commented "I promised my people of Puerto Rico and Brooklyn another World Title. Hard training and patience were the keys to succeed" said Amanda Serrano, "we learn two weeks ago about this fight but I was training very hard for another fight, so there were no surprises. Ellis will be in the co-feature bout this Friday, July, 11 at the Humacao Arena in a card promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions and Top Rank. Ellis will be facing, tough Mexican, Guillermo Ibarra ( 11-5, 7 KO's ) in a six round welterweight clash. WAPA2/WAPA America will broadcast the boxing card at 10:00pm ( ET )

PUERTO RICAN AMATEUR STARS RIVERA & PAREDES RETURN WITH KNOCKOUT VICTORIES

PUERTO RICO (June 30, 2014) - This past Saturday, Gary Shaw Productions hot prospects, Jean Carlos "Chapito" Rivera and Luis Paredes both scored sensational knockout victories to improve their records to (2-0, 1KO). 

Rivera, who fights at bantamweight, connected with a powerful body shot, sending his opponent Jean Carlos Molina to the canvass in the first round.  Molina could not recover and the bout was stopped. 

"I went to work right away," Rivera said. "When I landed that powerful body shot to my opponent, I knew he wasn't getting up.  I want to thank Gary Shaw for bringing me back to Puerto Rico where I get to fight in front of my people.  This was my first knockout and it felt fantastic.  I'm hoping I can get back in the ring very soon."

Paredes landed a stunning left hook to the jaw of his opponent Jesus Feliciano to defeat him.  The devastating blow came in the first round and the contest was ended.  Paredes campaigns at junior featherweight .  

"I came out here and accomplished my goal of getting a knockout," said Paredes. "I wanted to show Gary Shaw that I have knockout power.  It felt good to get a win like this in front of my hometown fans. Fighting in Puerto Rico is incredible.  I can't wait to return to the ring."

PUERTO RICAN AMATEUR STARS PAREDES & RIVERA MAKE RING RETURNS THIS SATURDAY

 

PUERTO RICO (June 25, 2014) - Gary Shaw Productions, in association with Javier Bustillo's Universal Promotions is happy to announce the return of Puerto Rican amateur stars, Luis Paredes and Jean "Chapito" Rivera, who are both (1-0).  The twosome will showcase their talents this Saturday, June 28 at the Mayaguez Coliseum, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

18-year old Jean Carlos Rivera, will square off against Jean Carlos Molina (0-4) in a 4-roundbantamweight bout.  In his pro debut, Rivera won a unanimous decision, dominating every round with superior boxing skills.  In this fight, he'll look to do the same.

"I just want to come out and dictate the fight," said Jean  Rivera. "I feel I'm getting better in the gym and now I know what it's like to fight with no headgear.  I'm happy that Gary Shaw is bringing my back to Puerto Rico where I can establish myself as a house hold name.  If I can get a knockout I'll be very satisfied."

After winning a unanimous decision in his pro debut, 20-year old Luis Paredes,will face Jesús Feliciano (Pro debut) in 4-round junior featherweight bout.  Paredes will be looking to make a statement against his opponent.

"Gary Shaw likes knockouts so I'm going to bring the heat in this fight," said Luis Paredes. "I know I have the power to take out my opponents so we'll see what happens this Saturday.  Sparring has been great and I'm looking forward to fighting in Puerto Rico for the second time."

THOMAS DULORME HEADING TO OXNARD CALIFORNIA EN ROUTE FOR HIS UPCOMING BOUT

PUERTO RICO (June 12, 2014) - Gary Shaw Productions welterweight contender, Puerto Rican star, Thomas Dulorme (21-1, 14 KO), left this morning from Puerto Rico to Oxnard, California, to officially began his training camp under the tutelage of renowned trainer, Robert Garcia.

In his last bout, Dulorme captured the NABF Junior Welterweight title, when defeated former undefeated Californian, Karim Mayfield (18-1-1, 11 KOs), by unanimous decision in a HBO live televised bout on March, 29 2014.

"After beating Mayfield, I rested a little bit, but quickly started running while doing some light training" Dulorme said. "We have several alternatives on the table, and one of those is a possible fight in Puerto Rico in August.  I'm taking my career serious that is why I'm heading out to California early.  I'm looking forward to reuniting with Robert Garcia in Oxnard to start training."

"Since moving down from 147 Dulorme has proven he's a force at 140 lbs." said promoter Gary Shaw. "That fact that he's heading out early to Oxnard to train with Robert Garcia tells me he's on a mission to take over the division.  I'm looking to get him in the ring by the end of the summer.  His future is bright and the people of Puerto Rico will get to see him in action very soon." 

Currently at 140 pounds, Dulorme is ranked #2 by the World Boxing Association (WBA), #3 by the World Boxing Council (WBC), #4 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), and #8 in the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
