Tevin Farmer has breakout 2014; looks for big 2015

Farmer Takes on Viktor Chernous this Friday night in Cabazon, California FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Philadelphia (January 6, 2015 ) - As recently as 2012, Featherweight contender Tevin "The American Idol"  Farmer was considered nothing more than a dangerous and useful journeyman.  A fighter who would and could compete to a certain level but ultimately would fall a bit short against fighters with a perceived higher class. Enter a bout that took place on October 12, 2012.   Farmer was summoned in to face hot undefeated prospect Jose Pedraza.  Pedraza won the fight via 8th round.  After the fight, Farmer's record stood at a pedestrian 7-4-1. Cipparone sat down with young Farmer and decided to get into the fight game as a manager. OSUMANU AKABA REPLACES JERRY BELMONTES AGAINST EDNER CHERRY OCT. 18 IN PHILADELPHIA ON NBCSN

Akaba Philadelphia, PA- Osumanu Akaba, of Ghana, who had a nine-fight knockout streak snapped in his most recent fight, steps in against Edner Cherry in a 10-round junior lightweight contest on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia. Akaba replaces Jerry Belmontes, of Corpus Christi, TX, who injured his right wrist in training last Thursday. While more recognizable fighters balked at fighting Cherry on short notice, the 34-year-old Akaba, now living in Tuscaloosa, AL, jumped at the opportunity. Akaba, who turned pro in 2000 as a super bantamweight (122 pounds), is now a full-fledged lightweight (135) at 5-foot-10. His record is 24-6, 19 K0s. He has won three minor championships - WBC International Featherweight Title, WBA Pan African Featherweight Title, WBO Africa Super Featherweight Title. One of Akaba's four losses was a 12-round decision defeat in a competitive fight in 2008 in London to Ricky Burns, who later won the WBO world lightweight title. Another 12-round decision setback came in 2005 in South Africa against Jeffrey Mathebula, who went on to take the IBF world super bantamweight title. Brunson-Perez Middleweight Battle Tops Oct. 18 Prelim Card At the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia

DeCarlo Perez - Tyrone Brunson Philadelphia, PA—Hidden beneath the publicity surrounding the NBCSN-televised twin main events on Saturday, Oct 18, is an intriguing eight-round middleweight match.    It features Tyrone Brunson, of Philadelphia, and DeCarlo Perez, of Atlantic City, NJ, in what figures to be an explosive contest at the 2300 Arena at 2300 South Swanson Street. The Brunson-Perez showdown will serve as the main preliminary contest to the doubleheader main event:  Steve “USS” Cunningham, of Philadelphia, vs. Natu Visinia, Lakewood, CA, 10 rounds, heavyweights; Edner Cherry, Wauchula, FL, vs.Jerry Belmontes, Corpus Christi, TX, 10 rounds, lightweights.  NBCSN will televise Cunningham-Visinia and Cherry-Belmontes on its popular Fight Night series beginning at 9pm (EST). Joey Dawejko scores explosive 1st round knockout in Club 1957 Management debut

Dawejko, who was making his first start under the Club 1957 Management banner scored three destructive knockdowns and looked like the fighter that many thought he would be after a decorated amateur career. CLUB 1957 MANAGEMENT SIGNS HEAVYWEIGHT JOEY DAWEJKO

Philadelphia (July 23, 2014) - Mark Cipparone's Club 1957 Management is proud to announce the signing of Heavyweight contender Joey Dawejko to an exclusive managerial contract.     The 24-year old Dawejko has a record of 10-3-2 with three knockouts and is currently riding a two fight winning streak.     The native of Philadelphia won the World Jr. Amateur championships in 2008.  He had am amateur record of 56-12, and besides winning the world championships, he also captured the National under-19. Despite setback, Cartagena on road to becoming Flyweight champion

Philadelphia (June 18) - Down but far from out.  A term that has been used many times in many aspects of life but for 21 year-old Flyweight contender Miguel Cartagena of Philadelphia, it couldn't be more true.   Back on April 24, Cartagena entered the ring for his bout with Timur Shailezov with a perfect record of 12-0.  Cartagena had been improving with each performance and it was thought his bout with Shailezov would have been another solid victory.   Unfortunately Cartagena was hurt and dropped in the 1st round.  He was never able to recover and was stopped in round three.   For many young fighters, that loss could have been a confidence and career killer.  But Cartagena went back to the drawing board and is looking to resume what many have predicted for him and that is a path to the world championship.   Young Miguel will be back in action in July when he looks to get back on the pursuit of a world title.   "It's a part of boxing, no excuses he was the better man tonight. I'll be back stronger than ever. This is just a minor set back for a major comeback," were Cartagena's words after the TKO defeat. Cartagena is set to make is return to the ring within 6 weeks.
