A silver medal winner for the United States in the 2000 Olympics, Rocky Juarez (30-10-1, 21 KOs) is one of boxing's most respected veterans. After falling just short of world title honors over the years against the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Chris John; the 34-year-old from Houston has parlayed huge wins over Antonio Escalante and Rene Alvarado into a number three ranking by the WBC. On January 26, he has the chance to defeat Castellanos and earn the world title shot he has been waiting for.

Ranked fifth in the world by the WBC, Celaya's Robinson Castellanos (20-10, 13 KOs), rebounded from a rocky start to win 12 of his last 13 fights, rejuvenating a career that began in 2002. His victories include a decision win over former world champion Celestino Caballero in 2013 and his biggest impact was in October 2014, when he knocked out 23-0 Ronny Rios in the fifth round. Despite setback, Cartagena on road to becoming Flyweight champion

Philadelphia (June 18) - Down but far from out.  A term that has been used many times in many aspects of life but for 21 year-old Flyweight contender Miguel Cartagena of Philadelphia, it couldn't be more true.   Back on April 24, Cartagena entered the ring for his bout with Timur Shailezov with a perfect record of 12-0.  Cartagena had been improving with each performance and it was thought his bout with Shailezov would have been another solid victory.   Unfortunately Cartagena was hurt and dropped in the 1st round.  He was never able to recover and was stopped in round three.   For many young fighters, that loss could have been a confidence and career killer.  But Cartagena went back to the drawing board and is looking to resume what many have predicted for him and that is a path to the world championship.   Young Miguel will be back in action in July when he looks to get back on the pursuit of a world title.   "It's a part of boxing, no excuses he was the better man tonight. I'll be back stronger than ever. This is just a minor set back for a major comeback," were Cartagena's words after the TKO defeat. Cartagena is set to make is return to the ring within 6 weeks.
